family favorite is located on Kaanapali Beach amid palm trees and lush
tropical gardens scented by plumeria.
The 430-room
Kaanapali Beach Hotel takes pride in its Hawaiian-ness. Employees study
Hawaiian culture and values, and it's reflected in their uncommon
friendliness and knowledge. Signs are written in both English and Hawaiian.
The lobby displays large photographs of award-winning hula dancers and
Hawaiian royalty, contains a lava-rock garden grotto, and provides soothing
Hawaiian background music. All this creates an unpretentious atmosphere of
warm hospitality and absolute ease for the variety of hotel guests.
A
band entertains with Hawaiian music every night on a courtyard stage in
front of outdoor seating, visible from the Tiki Terrace Restaurant. Guests
dance as plumeria perfumes the air and tradewinds rustle palm trees. A
dinner show featuring Hawaiian myth expressed through illusion, the hula,
and chant is held Tuesday–Saturday nights in the hotel's Kanahele Room Hula skirts rustle to music and chant during a Hawaiian
dinner show; one of many offerings including lei making, weaving, and
various children's activities—there's a whale-shaped pool, too.
