Mana Kai Maui
The Mana Kai Maui is conveniently located on "one of the most scenic beaches in Maui." Choose from condominium or hotel accommodations. The condominiums include one- and two-bedroom suites, complete with fully equipped kitchen and private lanais. Comfortable hotel-type units with full bath are also available just steps away from the ocean. Take advantage of the truly resort atmosphere with special features including pool, open-air dining with lounge, beauty shop, activities center, apparel store & gift shop, general store, and conference and meeting facilities.
Mana Kai means "Spirit of the Sea". The story says it was an area of ancient sanctuary for Hawaiians who were in trouble. If they went here, they would be safe. So will you. Safe to sleep while the waves lap on the soft, white sand beach. The Maui Mana Kai also served as a debarkation point for cattle being moved from Maui to Kahoolawe. The remains of the dock are sometimes visible during short periods when it is not covered with the finest and softest sand you have ever felt in the world.
The condos are not large in size but offer some unique features. The master bedroom is separated from the living room by a sliding screen, which limits privacy, but also permits a great ocean view from the master bedroom. The property is set back from the road and offers a serene setting..
Mana Kai Maui offers a beachfront pool with waterfall, the Five Palms Restaurant & Bar and an on-site convenience store, beauty salon, laundry facility and free parking. Each floor has a laundry room facility. The washers and dryers are token operated. You can purchase the tokens at the hotel front desk.
On Site: Beautiful Sandy Beach (best underused beach in Kihei), swimming pool, restaurant, beauty shop, clothing store and gift shop. Conference and meeting facilities.
Nearby: Golf at Wailea, Makena and Silversword courses. Windsurfing,
surfing, snorkeling, whale watching and other water activities.
For accommodations, you have a choice between hotel rooms, and spacious one and two bedroom suites which feature private lanai terraces, tropical decor, a fully equipped kitchen, and a color television.
This southshore beachfront property offers one of the best "real" or "imagined" locations on Maui. It's actually in south Kihei but removed from the main "busy" part of town enough to be out of all the hussle & bussle and can be reached without having to even go through Kihei town. It's close enough to town for convenient shopping and restaurants in both Kihei and in Wailea, both a couple minutes' drive away. The resort has an oceanfront swimming pool and a large grassy lawn overlooking one of the most beautiful sandy beaches on Maui. Keawakapu Beach is ideal for swimming and boogie-boarding as well as snorkeling the rocky point and taking long walks past a neighborhood of private homes as far as you care to go into Wailea. The units are quite "small" even by Maui standards but all have full kitchens and the main bedroom is beachfront so you can hear the waves lap the shore at night. There are no hottubs or barbeques at this property but the view and beach are unbeatable, which makes this is a personal favorite of ours.
