Beautiful Kaanapali Beach fronts this peaceful condominium hotel, also located across from two tournament golf courses and near Whalers Village mall. Tranquility reigns here, with mostly adult vacationers enjoying peace and quiet. Hush prevails even in the skylighted lobby, which includes a tour desk and a gift shop. No restaurants are located on site, so dining bustle is also eliminated. The large lawn-and-garden area between The Whaler's two 12-floor wings reinforces the property's tranquility. Trees flanking the outside walls ensure privacy. For shopping, dining, and social life, the pretty, low-rise Whalers Village mall is just a two-minute walk away.

Free of the extensive activities that resort hotels along Kaanapali Beach offer, The Whaler provides stress-free condominium living in a gorgeous, tropical-beach setting cooled by tradewinds. A fitness center offers staying-trim equipment, and a massage center and sauna get the kinks out. Next to the beachfront outdoor pool is a hot tub for further relaxation. On each side of the garden courtyard, there are large grills and marble-topped picnic tables for guests to do their own outdoor barbecuing.

From the beach, catamarans offer whale-watching trips during the winter, and snorkeling and scuba excursions as well as dinner cruises year-round. Two public, tournament-grade golf courses lie across the street from the hotel, and there are three other courses at Kapalua 7 miles north. Public tennis centers are located at the Royal Lahaina Resort, the Maui Marriott Hotel, and the Sheraton Maui Hotel.
